From Joshimath, they travel to Badrinath, which is approximately 42 kilometers (26 miles) away. The temple is situated along the banks of the Alaknanda River at an altitude of about 3,133 meters (10,279 feet) above sea level.
Weather: Badrinath experiences a cold and temperate climate due to its high altitude location in the Garhwal Himalayan range. The temple remains open for pilgrims only during the summer months, typically from late April to early November. During the winter season, the region remains snowbound and inaccessible.
Panch Badri: Badrinath is part of the Panch Badri pilgrimage circuit, which consists of five sacred temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu in different forms. The other four Badri temples are Adi Badri, Vridha Badri, Bhavishya Badri, and Yogadhyan Badri.
